The iSeries eServer utilizes RISC-chip technology (reduced instruction set chip), considered a more intelligent microprocessor. Its design make use of the discovery that 90 percent of a computer’s work is done based on 20 percent of its instructions, and that repetition of common instructions complicates processors. The RISC was designed to reprocess those common instructions so it uses less transistors and circuitry to interpret instructions, and more energy following them. Like the proprietary software, our iSeries system is all about flexibility. We can:
